This is the story of a girl born in a small town in Uttarakhand, India, with big dreams in her eyes. Even though her ambitions were high, she wasn’t sure where her true calling lay. While the path was unclear, the goal was always very clear: she wanted to do something big, meaningful, and impactful from the very beginning.

She went with the flow—completing her studies, getting married, raising children, and juggling job and home
responsibilities. Life moved on, but something always felt incomplete. It was as if days were merely passing by rather than being truly lived. She remained uncertain about her calling until…

It all started when she was searching for the perfect lamp for her home. To her surprise, the market was dominated by imported options, and the Indian alternatives were either unsatisfactory or excessively expensive.

Believing strongly in the power of
buying Swadeshi (local goods), she was determined to find a solution. And that is how Little Lamps was born! She embarked on a journey of design and research, creating her own line of lamps. The joy of seeing her designs come to life was immense, and she decided to make lamps not just for her own home, but for the world!

Starting with modest savings and working from her home, she faced numerous challenges and skepticism from her family. After all, who would choose the uncertainties of a business over the stability of a fixed income? There were times when lamps had to be hidden in the bathroom to keep her dreams alive. Yet, her unwavering dedication and belief in her vision helped her overcome these hurdles.

From hiding lamps in the bathroom to
showcasing them to the world through an online presence, it has been an
incredible journey, one she is very proud of.

Today, Little Lamps proudly
presents beautiful and practical lamps on its website, each with its own unique story and charm. Our founder’s journey from a small-town dreamer to a successful entrepreneur reflects her perseverance and passion for what she does. Every lamp is more than just a product; it’s a piece of her journey and a symbol of finding one’s IKIGAI (a Japanese concept meaning
“reason for being”).
